Senior Project Manager, R&D: Drug Development | EMEA
We're working with a global biotherapeutics leader and pioneering healthtech innovator on this exciting opportunity. This is a high-impact role for a strategic operator to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and life-saving therapies using cutting-edge platforms in cell and gene therapy.
You will lead complex, global drug development programmes from the central axis of R&D, transforming innovative research into tangible patient outcomes. This isn't just about tracking milestones; it's about driving the scientific and technical trajectory of a massive global portfolio at a major inflection point of transformation.
The Role• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary global teams across Discovery, Clinical, Regulatory, and CMC functions to ensure seamless project delivery.• Translate high-level project strategy into executable plans with rigid timelines, multi-million dollar budgets, and robust risk management frameworks.• Navigate the critical path of drug development, evaluating scenarios and making high-stakes decisions to maintain momentum.• Manage complex stakeholder relationships, presenting concise technical updates and strategic recommendations to senior executive leadership.• Mentor and coach R&D colleagues in project management best practices and technical delivery discipline to elevate the organization's execution capability.
What You'll Need• 7+ years of experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical R&D with a deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle.• 5+ years specifically managing cross-functional programmes involving CMC, clinical trials, and regulatory submissions.• Mastery of project management tools such as Microsoft Project; PMP certification is highly advantageous for this role.• A Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Advanced degree like an MSc or PhD is strongly preferred).• Proven success in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget across multiple time zones and cultures.
