Head of Operating Systems & Database Management

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operating Systems & Database Management to oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and management of operating systems and database management activities within the IT division.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the strategic planning, implementation, and management of operating systems and database management activities within the IT division. Lead a team of system administrators and database specialists to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of IT systems. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for system and database management to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational requirements. Collaborate with other IT departments to integrate systems and databases seamlessly, supporting business operations and objectives. Ensure successful deployment, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and databases, including regular updates and patches. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to protect data integrity and system availability. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for operating systems and database software, ensuring cost-effective solutions.Monitor and optimize system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes

Qualifications & Experience
EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Experience5-7 years of experience in AIX/Linux infrastructure management.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.Proficiency in infrastructure management tools and software.Understanding of network principles and security protocols.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Project management skills are a plus.
