About This Role

The Director of Business Development provides strategic vision and leadership for the Jordan River Foundation’s commercial growth. This role is responsible for driving revenue through integrated sales and marketing strategies while spearheading the Customer Experience (CX) framework. The Director oversees brand equity, market expansion (local and international), and the cultivation of high-value corporate and retail relationships to ensure financial sustainability and market leadership.
Marketing & Brand ManagementOversees brand management and corporate identity for Jordan River Designs and Karma Kitchen, to assure they align with JRF brand guidelines.Directs the strategic e-commerce marketing plan for JRD, ensuring the brand is presented in a compelling and consistent manner across all digital platforms.Coordinates with the Media & Communications department to integrate digital content and align marketing strategies with the broader organizational strategy.Anticipates global market trends and identifies new business leads in regional and international markets to increase financial growth and market share.Oversees the development, pricing, and positioning of promotions, analyzing the financial impact of product creation within the SE division.
Sales & Strategic Relationship ManagementFormulates and directs the implementation of long-term strategic sales plans for the JRD and Karma Kitchen portfolios to meet fundamental organizational goals.Networks represents JRF with national and international corporate clients, wholesalers, and distributors to support large-scale sales objectives.Leads and manages high-level strategic partnerships, such as IKEA, ensuring strict compliance with international standards and identifying opportunities for new global collaborations.Controls pricing and dynamic revenue management to assure value integrity while achieving the highest margins for retail, wholesale, and corporate initiatives.Develops and manages the comprehensive Sales and Marketing budget, ensuring expenditures are monitored, audited, and aligned with JRF goals.Assigns department targets and motivates the sales and marketing teams to maximize performance and productivity.
Customer Experience & Quality AssuranceDefines and evaluates the end-to-end customer experience strategy to improve customer satisfaction and the quality image of JRD and Karma Kitchen.Identifies and analyzes customer feedback and technical product capabilities to determine necessary product features or service modifications.Assures that high-quality standards (e.g., IKEA Compliance for JRD and HACCP for KK) and best international practices are maintained and adhered to by all customer-facing staff.Identifies challenges and develops solutions to improve sustainable quality activities and services across all business development touchpoints.
Managerial Responsibilities:Manages the team by evaluating performance, providing ongoing feedback, and identifying development needs to assure capability growth.Motivates and leads the sales and marketing staff, setting individual targets and monitoring performance to ensure alignment with the budget.
QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.15+ years of post-qualification experience, minimum 5 years of experience in leading a similar role. Significant experience in the FMCG industry is a plus. Experience in retail, product-based businesses, or social enterprises is highly desirable.Excellent command of English and Arabic language skills (written and spoken).
